Sun in Sagittarius, Lecture #6: Presented on November 25th, 2007.
Keynote topic is the process of Re-Orientation.
In this lecture, Gita discusses what is the process of re-orienting your life to the higher values and why this presents a crisis. The process of re-orientation has seven crises that one has to undergo and they are:
- Crisis of New Values
- Crisis of Unity
- Crisis of Self-forgetfulness
- Crisis of Harmlessness
- Crisis of Beauty
- Crisis of the Solar Angel
- Crisis of the Teacher
Why are these labeled as crises? The basic process of building the Lighted House is to move from personality based living and non-integration, to a soul based living with integrity and truth. As we approach new values that include unity and self-forgetfulness, part of our old self is being discarded and we are jumping into a realm that we do not experientially know much about. What does this take and how do we manage?
The power of Sagittarius offers us the path to focus on the purpose and direction of our life. Using this energy, we can undergo the tests of these crises and build the next petal of our Chalice, our Lighted House.
“… Once a person contacts his goal, he has no other choice. It may happen that his goal causes him lots of pain, suffering, and difficulty in life, but it does not stop him from doing what he wants to do. The goal increases his willpower and he keeps going on, no matter what happens in the world of his personality.
“Each suffering and each victory on the path reveals the goal more clearly, increases the willpower to bless obstacles, increases the joy; and as the person goes forward toward the goal, he eventually becomes the embodiment of that goal. He becomes an ideal for those who look to him as a guiding light. He does not try to impress his image in them but he evokes striving in them toward their own goals.” (Symphony of the Zodiac, by Torkom Saraydarian, p. 269.)
Meditation on Re-Orientation follows the lecture.
